TECH: Interactive Touch Wallβ
Touch walls have been in the process of standardization since at least 2005. The peak of touch wall research was in around 2010 in research side. They appear to have a renaissance in 2026 according to google trends (Also see TUIO). A setup for Flavoria's Aistikattila is currently being developed (2026) with the goal of it being extensible all the way to VR cooperation.
The requirements include:
- Cross-platform (Windows, Linux)
- Open-source
- Standardized protocols (TUIO or equiv.)
- Multi touch
- IR-pen / touch tracking
- Optional: Multi-touch gestures
