Weigh & Dine ⚖️

Weight and Dine is a pay-by-weight lunch line. It consists of individual hot/cold meal components, a self-service cash register with a trading-approved scale and a RFID+QR reader.

Customer process

  1. Take a tray and a plate and other utensils (same as normal lunch line)
  2. Choose to take any of the salad components
  3. choose warm components on warm point
  4. Add nuts/etc
  5. Optional: pick bread from bread desk
  6. move plate from tray to scale
  7. Pay (choices: take out or normal)
  8. Optionally: identify with MyFlavoria
  9. Return plate to tray
  10. Dine as normal, but optionally can buy more with no extra fee (as of 2026), though at cost of extra payment hassle.

Planned (2026-2027):

  • RGB photos of plates while being weighed
  • Waste amount at waste point based on tray session.

Sales Data

Self-service cash register data is stored the same as from lunch line. Special: includes weight of the total plate contents in grams!

Data quality

  • Plate weight variance: ±5g
  • Some components are not listed
  • Menu: Only names and allergens, no nutrients
  • Weight: no individual components!
